Book for mentoring with Bec
LET’S REFORM TASMANIAS FAMILY VIOLENCE LAW
Right now, under section 9A of the Family Violence Act 2004 (Tas), victim-survivors only have 12 months from the most recent act of economic (financial) abuse or emotional abuse and intimidation — forms of coercive control — to take legal action.
THE CHANGE WE NEED
We’re asking the Tasmanian Government to remove or amend the 12-month limitation period under section 9A, so survivors can come forward when they are ready and safe to do so.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
By signing this petition, you’re supporting vital reform to protect families and future generations.
Bring Tasmania into alignment with other Australian states that already recognise coercive control as an ongoing pattern of harm, not something bound by time.
WE ARE STRONGER TOGETHER.
Every signature shows the government this change is urgent, fair, and long overdue.
Sign it. Share it. Spark change.
